markin

Pause the video and click what needs fixing — your note is pinned to that moment and that spot. Trade files with teammates to merge feedback, then hand it off as a PDF.

Open markin

A serverless tool — no install or sign-up, it runs in your browser

What it does

  • Pins on time and place

Click a spot on the exact frame to add a numbered pin and a note. Notes support Markdown.

  • Pick up where a teammate left off

Save your work as a JSON file and send it; teammates add their notes on top. Open the file they send back and feedback merges by author.

  • Wrap it up as a PDF

Each note gets a page with the pinned frame and its text. Vertical videos print on landscape paper, horizontal videos on portrait.

  • Serverless

markin has no server. Videos and notes are handled only inside your browser and are never sent anywhere. Work in progress is saved locally so a refresh won’t lose it, and you share by trading JSON files directly.

How to use it

Start with a new video

  1. 01Open a video file or paste a video URL
  2. 02Enter your name or email so your notes are labeled
  3. 03Pause the video and click what needs fixing to write a note
  4. 04Save as JSON and send it to a teammate
  5. 05Export a PDF to share (choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog)

Continue from a JSON you received

  1. 01Open the .markin.json you received. Linked videos open automatically; for file videos, pick the same file
  2. 02Enter your name or email so your notes are labeled
  3. 03Add to or edit your teammate’s notes (marked “New”)
  4. 04Save as JSON — it includes the merged feedback
  5. 05Export a PDF to share (choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog)

Space plays and pauses, ←/→ steps one frame. When opening by URL, the video server must allow it for frames to be captured; download Google Drive videos and open them as files.
